VK9CU - Cocos-Keeling Isl.

Updated: Mar 11

VK9CU Update (Mar 11)

VK9CU is now QRT. Last QSO was with ZL3TX on 21.074 mHz at 05:31z in FT8. We logged next to 35k QSOs from Cocos (Keeling) Islands. We are now all waiting for our flights back home. Upon return, we will also provide a few pictures for the gallery - during the DXpedition, we simply had no time to do this.

Thanks to all supporters, to all those who worked us, and to all that kept dispipline on the bands on highest level. 73!

VK9CU Update (Mar 09)

Status: all bands are very busy and QSO count increases rapidly. We will aproach 30k by end of our VK9CU week. No major failures or storms anymore...

80/160: relocation of the antenna improved the low band situation significantly and we have since been very active on the low bands every night.

VK9CU Update (Mar 06)

Storm: a tropical storm went by. Even though its core was some 800km awyay, it was still good enough to drive our adrenalin levels up and our 30m J-pole antenna down. This had to be repaired. The storm also caused temporary loss of internet connection and clublog livestream.

80/160: the current antenna setup does not work. We will re-locate the 80/160m antenna tomorrow and hope for improvement.

VK9CU Update (Mar 05)

We made it to Cocos, started slow and built up all antennas today. Full operation since early afternoon.
