14 January 2024, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II will abdicate and leave the throne to her son HRH Crownprince Frederik, who will be sworn as the new King Frederik X of Denmark.
For this reason, the Radio Amateur Associations, FRA and EDR will activate Special Event Stations within The Kingdom of Denmark including Greenland and Faroe Islands.
Two periods with different call signs are used. The first period is to honor our beloved Queen that, on 14. January, have ruled the Kingdom in exactly 52 years. The second period is to welcome our new King that we all looks forward to see being the new Majesty in The Kingdom of Denmark.
These call signs will be active on most amateur radio bands with CW, SSB, RTTY and several digital modes. All bands, LF - EHF, including WARC-bands, and all modes may be used.
Every two-way contact or SWL report is valid for the QUEEN/KING Award. Contacts with one of the SES in Denmark, Greenland or Faroe Islands, on different bands or with different modes (CW, Phone or DIGI) counts one point. Example: Contact with OZ24QUEEN on 40m CW and 40m SSB and OY24QUEEN 40m RTTY and OX24KING on 2m CW will give you 4 points all-in-all in MIX Mode.
There are three categories of Awards in each Mode:
MIX MODE:
DX: GULD=8 - SILVER=6 - BRONZE=4
EU: GULD=13 - SILVER=9 - BRONZE=6
OZ: GULD=16 - SILVER=12 - BRONZE=8
SINGLE MODE (SSB, CW, DIGI):
DX: GOLD=5 - SILVER=4 - BRONZE=3
EU: GOLD=6 - SILVER=5 - BRONZE=4
OZ: GOLD=8 - SILVER=7 - BRONZE=6

A Special QUEEN/KING PLAQUE will be awarded to the radio amateur with the highest number of contacts in each of the three modes including contact with minimum four SES call signs.
Special QSL card may be requested via Clublog OQRS to be sent via bureau or direct (use links at the bottom of this page).
All logs will be uploaded to Clublog, LoTW and eQSL.
